The Archaeological Survey Of India gets notice of water and property tax for Taj Mahal

By what we can term as first of its kind, The Archaeological Survey of India has been charged to pay a water tax of Rs 2 crores for Taj Mahal

The Archaeological Survey of India has also been charged with a property tax of Rs 1.5 Lakhs for Taj Mahal

Further more, The Archaeological Survey of India has been charged a service tax of Rs 5 Crores for Agra Fort

These taxes have been imposed upon the The Archaeological Survey of India by the local Agra Municipal Corporation

However,  The Archaeological Survey of India in Agra have said that there is exemption of such taxes on the monuments

But on the other hand the municipal authorities have their say that, such taxes have been noticed out to several buildings

Also, those eligible for the exemption will get it accordingly. The notices were from the finalcial year 2021-22, 2022-23. and had a 15 days  period to clear the same

This action of the municipal corporation of Agra have been criticized by the Archaeological Survey Of India, Agra Circle
